Saturday 19th August 2017 – Reiki One Course

How did I find today’s Reiki 1 Session? Enlightening!!! The feel of Universal energy was in the room and an open space was created to let thoughts and feelings flow. It was safe to say thoughts out loud and to pluck notions from the air that entered during our discussions.

It wasn’t just ideas, but connections made from previous conversation or events that have happened in my life that now make sense and added weight to the enormity of what happened next.

A realisation of my ‘legacy’ It was so energised and volumous that it made me cry. I have found what it is that has been moving around my headspace like light moving around the room, reflected from a glitter ball.

It is not the low hanging fruit that is easy to see and grasp, but the fruit high in the canopy that holds the most life changing opportunities.

Universal energy is the means to grasp the higher fruit, and boy ….. Does it knock you sideways. It is difficult to express in words the feelings and emotions when it happens, but you know! It’s like basking in something glorious and you have to stop talking to absorb the moment. Experiencing Reiki? Well I experienced it alright and it is the best feeling ever.

Thank you Kate for changing my perceptions and for giving Reiki Love and Compassion, to release the profound.

“My Reiki experience has far surpassed my expectations. Looking back now I can’t remember what life was like without Reiki in it. I first attended a Reiki I course to help me with some pain associated with Rheumatoid Arthritis and hoped that it was also help me get a good night’s sleep as sleeping is something I’m really not good at. Reiki has helped ease my creaky joints to the point I have taken part in a few 5k runs recently and can get into some weird and wonderful Yoga poses. I also regularly fall asleep mid Reiki session so its fair to say it has changed my life. Little did I know that I could use Reiki in so many other areas of my life and having now reached Reiki Master level I use Reiki every day (from long haul flights to Formula one racing!) – the great thing about Kate is that whilst she is the font of all knowledge, she does so with humour and gives you lots of ideas of how Reiki can help in the most unusual ways…..it really is a journey of great discovery. I can not recommend Reiki enough to anyone thinking of finding out more….and Kate is the best there is!”

“I have been asked to provide a testimonial in relation to my experience of learning reiki with Kate Arbuckle, which it would be an honour to do.
My historical background to knowing Kate is that we were friends at primary school and for a year at secondary school before I moved away and we lost touch. However, for many years into adulthood I wondered about her and tried to find her through internet searches, etc.
The night before I was due to embark on my First Degree reiki course with a teacher in North Wales Kate contacted me through Facebook, having seen me on a former mutual friend’s page, the timing could not have been coincidental as I told her what my plans for the following day were. The re-connection was instantaneous, quite beyond what you would ordinarily imagine after 25 years apart and it felt like another piece had been added back into Life’s jigsaw. Kate was entirely non-intrusive on my journey into reiki: she offered support when I asked for it or she sensed I needed it and she made absolutely no attempt to intrude on another person’s teaching, she showed the unfailing and unstinting respect that characterises Reiki, for the teaching of another Master.
I had my Reiki Two attunement with the same Master who then, for entirely practical reasons, was unable to continue teaching. Without implying any criticism of this Teacher, for whose guidance I will be forever grateful and who I know was led into my life for all the right reasons and was the spiritual catalyst for Kate and me getting back in touch, I approached Kate and asked if I might “re-do” my Second Degree with her.
Many people might be daunted by the prospect of taking on someone else’s pupil and all that it entails but Kate did so in a totally nurturing, respectful and embracing way and has always shown regard for, and interest in, my earlier experiences and incorporated them into her later teaching with me in a way that completely personalises and enriches the experience.
Spiritually Kate has both the theoretical knowledge and personal intuition to teach reiki in a way that places it firmly in a web of varied experiences rather than an isolated phenomenon and she has a great skill for intuiting what her students would be interested in and adapting her teaching style to make it inclusive for everyone and reflective of her students as individuals. I have lasting memories of one of my Master Level attunements taking place in the corner of a field we had walked to, with a red kite hanging in the air over me – this was something Kate suggested as she knows my great loves are the outdoors, birds and walking.
Her courses have always struck the perfect balance between informality and enormous humour with the seriousness required for what she is teaching. That is reflected in everything from the conversation, the seating arrangements, the regular tea breaks……Her courses grow organically over the day and over the length of the course and she is skilled at adapting her style and the content, as far as is possible within the confines of what must nevertheless be covered, to the group dynamic.
I have absolutely no doubt that Kate treats with unfailing discretion her experiences of teaching people and what her students confide in her. She creates a natural atmosphere of total trust, safety, security and respect and, most importantly, lives her ideals and teachings without dogmatism, only inspiration.”

“For a long time Kate has been telling me about the benefits of Reiki and how much it has helped her in her life. Unfortunately all of Kates Reiki courses were at weekends and I couldn’t attend due to family commitments.
